Subwoofer Talks (All about subwoofer)

I dunno. Never have been a fan of JBL ever since their crown series amp fried in my car. Boycott JBL! Hehe

I have a preference for Scanspeak, JL, Aliante and Alpine Type-X subs. If you ask me which is better between JBL and Bazooka, I'd say I'd have to listen to the complete setup. Sometimes it's all about matching. Some might find Bazooka to work better with their component speakers, some might find JBL better. Whats the rest of your setup look like?

Fried? Hehe.. Wah, all ur preference mahal-mahal one.. Can't afford leh.. Haha.. Just asked a 10 inch JBL GTO1004D 10 inch subs, it cost much more than the JBL GT-5 12 inch wor.. Duh.. But its a higher series lo.. Hehe.. My setup: front 4" GTO407 2-Way, rear door GT-5 650C Component 2-Way, rear boot CS4196 4-Way, 5 Channel Rodex amp to fired up GT-5 650C & CS4196, left subs channel unused..

My preference not mahal la. I was a huge fan of the Alpind MRD monoblocks. Not that expensive what. JBL Crown was my 2nd sub amp and it fried itself.. circuit board burnt out and I dunno why. Happened twice after I got it warrantied. After that I gave up on JBL. Maybe my bad luck

Yeah well.. ICE is very subjective. What I like you may not like. Have you ever considered disabling the rear speakers and letting the front speakers do the work? Front staging.

Well, i did just have the front 4" and rear door 6" only after i sold my 12" sub, then i find that i have no bass at all in my ride, thus i add the 6x9 for bass purpose, and i'm quite satisfied with my set up, just that not enuf bass.. Recently my 5 meter RCA from player to rear amp damaged, then the acc shop told me to upgrade to better 1, then i choose mohawk 5 meter loh, then after install, the acc shop help me to tune, then, whua la, nice sound i have in my ride wei.. Haha, now i have heavier bass compared to before, i just know that cables do play part in sound system.. So for the moment i'm really satisfied with my set up loh.. Cheers..

Cables play a big difference in ICE but it also depends on the quality of the output from your system. Mohawk RCA? Erm.. how much you pay for it?

HEY GUYS AM NEW HERE AM ACTUALLY ONLY 19 M QUITE YOUNG N DON REALLY KNW ABOUT WTS SPL OR EVEN P2 ! i wanna knw about which brand of woofer shud i put in my car n wt player shud i get! i more to bass and all! so i wud like to knw wt shud i tell to the shop  guy to put i don wanna get con by him! i'll get a monoblock for the speaker too so how many watts of woofer shud i need and the inch and which brand is good! i hope u guys don get irritated with this childish question! m sorry hope i'll get some help here

John : Well, if you can test it, try it... like it.. price suites you? Buy it. Personally I don't buy built in amp + woofers. But it's great for space saving! It's all up to you bro. Test it, like it then buy it. Else look else where if cannot test.

Wanna play bass a.k.a SPL ar? Woofer try 12 inch JBL or,Ameron loh,cheap; player-Pioneer series,heavier bass; amp-not sure,any monoblock will do bah,haha.. Cheers,just sharing..

Wow.. that's quite premium price man. But then again that's shop price so I can't really compare. I usually get my cables from forums, I got a pair of Hisago RCA for RM220 back then and a Monster XLN for RM180. Hisago brand new, Monster 2nd hand. Cables are pretty much durable stuff so no point buying brand new from shops cuz they'll charge an arm and a leg for them.

But having said all that - if you like the way it sounds, then it's a good buy dude. *thumbs up*

Yup.. I'm quite satisfy with the quality i have now.. At that time i've been quoted for Audio Quart ard RM160 And Mohawk RM210, but the AQ 1 the built quality not so good, so last last i choose Mohawk loh, the head gold colour sumore, nice.. Lol.. Wow, expensive item u got thr also bro, all super branded 1, unlike mine.. Lol.. 10s bro sifu..
