any idea how much a compressor / supercharger (used / recond) would cost in the market which is suitable for a 1.3 motor?

cuz it would be nice to custom fit into the engine to give a lil boost of power.

Thats why i so curious if we SC or BOT our vi frm NA, is it recommended to use oil cooling system to have more reliable setup.....

turbo charger will Need a oil cooling system, which is one of the reasons when i start to mod my myvi, i got for the Supercharger..because it's a self contained oil cooling system,
i wouldnt like the additional stuff i add to mess about the original system.

jasondotcom.
most of aftermarket 1.5L sc would be super good for the 1.3 engine.
getting a small AMR300/500 (RM300-600) is not sufficient. The SC would reach it's max RPM in no time.

Jackson racing has a very nice kit for the B16A or D16, isnt that bad, roughly about 3-5K just for the Charger.
be the first for 1.3 SC sure isnt cheap Smile

slight update Wink
due to a misalignment on the SC unit as well as the aircon blower, the belt started to "makan tepi", and it snapped!

demn Sad

But oh well, i got the mech to realign it nicely, and the belt should be ok this time Very Happy
The belt im using now is a Bando 2380, Type B (aircon). It goes back to the old belting route, ignoring the bearing
Seems the belt slip previously was all due to a worn out pulley, rather than a lack of wrap Smile

Update:-
I drove the car around without the fan belt, the car still drove fine as a NA! The SC unit itself didnt pose much restriction.
After i got the new belt on, the idling is a lot quieter too Very Happy
Shows how important such a small detail is  Shocked

hahaha
yep very true

after the blower was realigned nicely, the car's idling is a lot quieter, and sometimes when i'm sitting in the car i can't hear the engine anymore
luv it! Mr. Green

Had some time a week and a half ago, then i decided to fool with my restrictive open pod setup Smile
The size of the Air filter is 2.8", whilst the throttle body is only 1.7"
I previously slapped on thick pieces of rubber to make the filter fit (check the 3 layers of rubber, 1 black, 2 blue)
xarrax quickly advised saying this is very bad for airflow

being the kiam-siap fella, i decided to test a smoother pipe using a chopped up 60sen plastic pot  Razz
It looked good, and i went out for a quick test

Result? 1.5 secs extra on my 40-100kmph test! Damn, the car is slower now Shocked
Then i realised with the extra length, the intake of the filter was blocked by the battery  Brick wall

Now, i've temporarily swapped back to the original position, and also drilled the airfilter to accomodate the air temp sensor Smile
In the future, will probably get a nice 90degree bend, and aim the air filter backwards
PVC pipes are probably cheap enuf, and can heat them up to shape accordingly  Cool

This was a sudden case; the 3PK power steering pump's belt had partially snapped.. 1 of the 3 ribs had broken off..
I quickly bought a replacement belt (rm13) and placed it back myself Smile

Finally, a long awaited mod!
Poi Auto, located at Pasir Puteh, Ipoh..

Check out the horrible welding! This piping was right after the extractor! I can literally imagine the poor airflow + turbulence caused by the air hitting against the sides instead of flowing smoothly into the piping..

Workers bz at work; the dude on the right (ah chong) is the boss i think, cheerful guy Very Happy

The crush bent piping.. 2" in diameter

The 2" piping was larger than the exit of the extractor, but at least its smoother than previous

Weird looking exhaust o.O

Welding the bullet in..

A view of the shop

A 90 degree bend to accomodate my Marco s-flow muffler..

I like it that the pipes are strecthed, then fit over + welded.. smoother airflow again Smile

A shot of the completed pipings.. Total cost of RM160

Overall, im very happy with the mod!
low-end and midrange gained a lot! The car feels much MUCH lighter, and response is better Very Happy
car pulls better in the 2k-5k rpm range now, so on my drive back to kl using trunk roads, I could cruise at higher gears + lower rpm.. Touch wood no increase in FC, based on my 1st tank of petrol  Cool
