Mine changed 4th time rotors and 1st time change calipers. Last time they only keep change the rotors only.
After i have a talk to the perodua sc people about the problem could be comming from other parts, they change the calipers and the rotors for the last time before my warranty expired to see any improvement.
Here is the latest photo of my new Calipers and rotors after one month usage.
Notice the wording "L"
are carved at the very corner. The old one was in the middle of the calipers. Sorry i didn't have the old picture.
So far it is working properly. However now my ABS malfunction again 3rd time. (1st time they change the ABS Actuator, Wiring, Sensor and the damaged rotors. The 2nd time ABS malfunction, they change the ABS Actuator and damaged rotors only). Now i also fedup of repairing it as it will cost a lot to change the ABS Actuator unit and its sensor...
hey man....HONESTLY SPEAKING.... there is no difference between the first and the new batch of brake calipers and disc. its still back to the same thing. Been there many times.... yes i claimed 5 times for it....so i experienced it already. After few thousand kilos on the road the problem comes back....VIBRRAATTEE.
it does not matter if the caliper is silver or green.... the problem is still there. next thing to do is just to swap it with another brake. eg. Wira front disc brakes with Wira caliper is pretty good. Or some other car makes. that will be my next plan once i really get sooo fed up with it.
there is nothing wrong with the calipers be it the old batch or new actually. its plainly because of the poor material used in manufacturing the disc brake.... yes the DISC ITSELF.
ppl always say, ur car dealer SC knows best for ur car. to me, Perodua mechanics are ALL ALL FULL OF SHIT that KNOWS NOTHING. I see the mechs all like the regular roadside mechanics.
i remembered couple of them said to me that most probably the knuckle / hub bent that causes the brake to fail prematurely.... i almost laughed at the statement.
btw, i noticed that ur using the stock Hitachi pads? Change it la. Those pads not that good. Very bad materials used. Cuz it will cut a lot of small deep lines into ur disc. I recommend u change to Bendix Titanium Metal King. Damn good.
and btw, dun talk to me about Metal King eatin the disc. The disc is a wear and tear item. it wears down eventually even with stock pads. I hv been using it for quite sometime now. It has not eaten much.....
oh ya, another problem with the calipers either green or the silver looking ones.... they both vibrate and produces annoying knocking sound. This however, can be corrected at outside mechanic for about Rm100. What they do is, to rebore the caliper's mounting and retrofit bushings in it. Guarantee no sound after that fix.
Imagine..... simple corrections like these PERODUA cannot make. This is indeed funny.
